The Catholic social welfare agency, Caritas, and the Bishops' Conference, in Papua New Guinea, are strongly supporting police action to curb human trafficking, particularly of sex workers.
Local media reported this month that certain foreign owned businesses were providing illegal activities, including prostitution, drugs, firearms and money laundering.
Caritas national director, Mavis Tito, told Don Wiseman they believe these businesses often rely on young people brought illegally into the country.
