Police want PNG's largest coffee plantation declared fighting zone

Fighting between tribes for control of the largest coffee plantation in Papua New Guinea has escalated into guerilla warfare and a cycle of violence.

The police commander in Western Highlands province, Jacob Kamiak, says to bring peace, he first needs the Dei District declared a fighting zone.

Mr Kamiak told Ben Robinson Drawbridge the Gamanch plantation has not been productive since 2018 because of the tribal dispute.
