Community consultations on Bougainville constitutional changes

The Bougainville Parliament is sending a team to consult on two planned constitutional changes.

The Parliament in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region has adjourned until March after the first readings last Friday on whether to retain the three seats for veterans and whether to allow presidents to remain in power for three terms.

Cabinet minister Albert Punghau told Don Wiseman a third matter - changing the government's name from the 'Autonomous Bougainville Govenrment,' to the 'Constitutional Transitional Bougainville Government,' needs to altered by the national parliament.
