The director of Vanuatu's largest newspaper is looking forward to being reunited with his family for Christmas, after the Supreme Court voided a government order barring him from entering the country.
Dan McGarry, who has been in Vanuatu for 16 years, has been embroiled in a legal fight for more than a month after the government refused to renew his work permit.
He was later blocked from boarding a flight back to Vanuatu after he went to attend a conference in the Australian city of Brisbane.
But the Supreme Court on Wednesday found there was no legal basis for refusing him travel, a decision Mr McGarry told Jamie Tahana he's grateful for.
