The director of the Solomon Islands environment ministry has defended logging in his country while it calls for dramatic changes at this year's UN climate summit.
Melchior Mataki is leading the Solomons delegation at the negotiations in Madrid, where Pacific countries are demanding greater commitments from industrial nations.
Solomon Islands has been plagued by rampant logging, but Dr Mataki says work is being done to rein that in.
He told Jamie Tahana that Solomons is extremely vulnerable to climate change.
