Papua New Guinea police have confirmed that they are investigating the hijacking of a plane in New Britain on Tuesday.
A plane from the charter airline, Tropicair, was hijacked by eight men while it was refuelling at Gasmata on New Britain.
The aircraft was then forced to fly to an unused airstrip where the hijackers removed the cargo and disappeared.
The company says the pilot was unharmed.
Chief executive Craig Chapple told Don Wiseman more about the incident.
