Major upsets on the cards for Marshalls' election

From , 6:03 am on 20 November 2019

Vote counting and tabulation of results is progressing well in Marshall Islands with most of the regular votes cast in the capital Majuro now counted.

At the international conference centre in the capital, tabulators are now focussed on counting the votes for the outer islands cast by Majuro residents.

Our correspondent Giff Johnson is in the capital and says preliminary results so far indicate some major upsets for incumbent MPs.

He spoke to Koroi Hawkins on Tuesday evening about the progress so far.

Tabulation of votes cast in Majuro during Monday’s national election began at the International Conference Center at midnight Monday and is ongoing with dozens of poll watchers following each of the tabulation tables.
