America's civilian volunteer organisation the Peace Corps is heading back to Solomon Islands after an absence of almost 20 years.

Hundreds of Peace Corps volunteers served in the Solomons from 1971 until the year 2000.

Don Wiseman spoke to America's consular agent in Honiara, Keithie Saunders, who says the returning Peace Corps volunteers will mainly be teachers.
