A sacked Solomon Islands minister says the country's recent switch from Taiwan to China was predetermined.
Rick Hou is accusing the prime minister Manasseh Sogavare of breaking his promise to Solomon Islanders that government would be 'leaving no stones unturned' in considering the pros and cons of the move.
Mr Hou was sacked as planning minister this week along with the former minister for justice Tautai Kaitu'u.
The former prime minister and central bank governor says it was for being vocal in caucas and cabinet about the need for more consideration and consultation around the issue.
Mr Hou says initially he was led to believe government would consider reports from four different review panels before making a decision.
But he told Koroi Hawkins it became clear halfway through the process that the switch had already been decided.
