The deputy opposition leader in Solomon Islands says his country is not ready for a diplomatic relationship with China.
Peter Kenilorea Junior, who is also the chair of parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, says Solomon Islands has many unresolved domestic issues related to land ownership and resource management.
He told Koroi Hawkins, weak laws and regulations in the Solomons leave it vulnerable to exploitation.
