Conservation efforts in the Cook Islands over the last 30 years have brought one of the nation's most iconic birds - the kakerori - back from the brink of extinction.

In 1989 there were only 29 known birds in Rarotonga - and there are now nearly 500 breeding birds on the island.

Ed Saul, who has been working to save the bird since the 1980s, spoke to Tim Glasgow.
