Radio Cook Islands seeks help to improve services

From , 3:01 pm on 9 July 2019

Radio Cook Islands is seeking help to maintain radio services around the country, after a decision to dismantle its rusting AM transmitter mast on Rarotonga.

The Cook Islands Investment Corporation has already indicated the mast, which transmits radio services to the outer islands, will not be replaced.

But Radio Cook Islands wants to strengthen radio services, particularly to the outer islands, and has produced a document suggesting possible solutions.

Chief executive Jeanne Matenga told Don Wiseman about the situation the radio station faces.
