Tahiti's phantom job affair concludes with order to repay $US4m

French Polynesia's phantom job saga has come to an end with France's highest court ordering the reimbursement of more than $US4 million to the public purse.

The main debtor is Gaston Flosse, the veteran politician at the centre of the network used to advance his party's interests more than 20 years ago.

Walter Zweifel has been following the case and Sally Round asked him why it took so long to conclude the case.
