Doctor training to boost much needed eye care in Tonga

From , 3:01 pm on 27 June 2019

A Tongan doctor says some people are having to wait months to be assisted as there is only one eye care specialist in the country, but he hopes to change that soon.

There is just one ophthalmologist in Tonga but Antonio Taufaeteau is studying the speciality in Suva with the aim of returning to help his colleague soon.

Dr Taufaeteau told Koro Vaka'uta the workload is too much for just one person.
