Fiji human rights lawyer Aman Ravindra-Singh says until there is respect for the rule of law in Fiji the dire situation in the country's prisons will continue.
Mr Ravindra-Singh, who has extensively documented human rights abuses in the Fiji prison system, spoke at the weekend at the Sir Peter Williams QC Penal Reform League Annual Conference in New Zealand.
His presentation was called "The Rule of Law & Human Rights: The Reality within the Fiji Prison System".
Mr Ravindra-Singh told Don Wiseman it was a chance to expose human rights abuses that occur on a daily basis in Fiji.
