High tech mapping underway to help Tuvalu adapt

From , 3:01 pm on 30 May 2019

A plane has been buzzing over Tuvalu's atolls and lagoons in the last week harvesting information to help the country cope with rising seas and cyclones.

Tuvalu is one of the countries most susceptible to climate change and the technology on board is providing data to  help it adapt.

The geotech firm Fugro is mapping the coastal seafloor and the elevation of the land using laser technology.

The chief technical advisor on the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation project, Arthur Webb, told Sally Round it's the  first atoll nation to be getting such comprehensive data.
