New Zealand's proposed Carbon Zero Bill has been greeted with cautious enthusiasm by the development community.

Among other things, the bill aims to keep New Zealand's emissions contribution within the global framework limiting temperature rise to 1.5 degrees.

Oxfam New Zealand says it is pleased with the government's announcement.

Its advocacy and campaigns director Joanna Spratt told Koroi Hawkins there are a lot of positives in the bill but also areas which need improvement.
