Fiji's opposition 'deprived' in parliament says Prasad

Fiji's deputy opposition leader Biman Prasad says the opposition can't do an effective job in parliament because of restrictive rules and fewer sitting days.

It's nearly six months since the election which saw the FijiFirst government returned to power with a reduced three seat majority in the 51 seat parliament.

Biman Prasad, the leader of the National Federation Party, says the opposition is very aggrieved and has difficulty putting its issues on the parliamentary agenda.

He says rule changes mean there's little dialogue and discussion in committees such as that seen in other parliaments around the world.
