Veteran Norfolk tent protestor happy to keep going

From , 5:03 am on 23 April 2019

Before the Australian Government took direct control of Norfolk Island nearly three years ago, there has been a tent village protest in the grounds near the old legislative council building.

The village is seen as representative of the ongoing anger at Canberra's actions in ending the island's autonomy.

Many Norfolk Islanders consider the move illegal and international moves to have it overturned are still in play.

But in the meantime the tent village remains as a daily beacon of this protest.

Duncan Sanderson has been sleeping there almost from the start, as he explained to Don Wiseman.
