From , 3:04 pm on 12 April 2019

The Solomon Islands police commissioner says there have been no major threats to the election process after polling last week.

Solomon Islanders took to the polls last Wednesday in the first vote since the departure of regional assistance mission RAMSI.

Matthew Varley says it was a mostly peaceful process but with a government still to be formed, the job isn't finished yet.

Mr Varley spoke to Mackenzie Smith about how election security has held up.
