Exhibition shows environment beauty and devastation in the Solomons

From , 5:02 am on 1 April 2019

The natural beauty and indigenous culture of Solomon Islands were on show at a recent exhibition in Wellington, New Zealand, juxtaposed with jarring images of logging and mining.

Heart for Solo, is the work of Volunteer Service Abroad's Patrick Rose.

It showcases his time in the Solomons through an audio-visual account of his travels.

Mr Rose told Dominic Godfrey the natural beauty jarring against the scars of commerce is particularly poignant given the recent grounding of a bauxite carrier on the pristine reef in Rennell.
