Call for Tonga Govt to seek better advice

From , 4:03 pm on 20 March 2019

As the Tonga government of 'Akilisi Pohiva continues to stumble along a political scientist is recommending advisors be brought in to help put it back on the right track.

The government has recently faced a series of public petitions calling for King Tupou VI to step in and disssolve parliament and now the legislature is in deadlock.

There have been a series of walkouts by the opposition who want Mr Pohiva to explain why he is trying to push through six bills under urgency.

The director of Massey University's Pasifika Centre, Malakai Koloamatangi, says it is a very serious concern for Tonga.
