Fiji villagers in dispute over Malolo development

From , 5:03 am on 1 March 2019

Villagers on Fiji's Malolo Island want land earmarked for a tourism development surveyed to determine its rightful owner.

The development has been the centre of controversy after locals complained construction work already underway was damaging the reef and foreshore.

The villagers' lawyer Saimoni  Nacolawa says a magistrate will hear their case in Nadi next month.

Mr Nacolawa told Christine Rovoi why the land dispute must be resolved before more construction can take place.
