The Commonwealth has launched a series of schemes to help its members deal with the challenges they face in their oceans.
Called the Commonwealth Clean Oceans' Alliance, it is being fronted in New Zealand by diplomat Stephen Harris.
He says the Commonwealth's 53 members include 31 small island states, so the condition of the oceans is critical to them.
