How to ensure Fiji gets full benefit from cruise tourism

From , 5:04 am on 20 December 2018

The International Finance Corporation, or IFC, wants to know about the economic impact of the cruise tourism industry in Fiji.

The cruise industry in the Pacific has mushroomed over the last seven years, growing from 57,000 visitors to more than 184,000 last year.

The IFC, which is part of the World Bank group, is working with the Fiji government and the industry to increase the returns from cruise visits to the ports of call which include: Dravuni Island, Port Denarau, Lautoka, Savusavu and Suva.

The Fiji Tourism Project leader, Jessie McComb, told Don Wiseman they will be undertaking surveys.
