The Cook Islands government has announced a huge surplus for the financial year ending on 30 June 2018.
After forecasting a surplus of $US321,000, the final quarterly report shows the government's coffers were up by $US24.2 million.
Finance minister Mark Brown told Don Wiseman a surplus like this will take some pressure off, especially with costly infrastructure projects looming.
