Digital stories aim to tackle sorcery violence in PNG

There is a new scheme to try and end the violence that has become part and parcel of accusations of sorcery.

Yumi Sanap Strong, which means let's stand strong together, is an initiative to tackle sorcery related violence in Papua New Guinea.

Violent attacks, often resulting in death, have become more and more common in PNG in recent years.

But Queensland University of Technology researchers have teamed up with PNG human rights activists to create short films with the aim of bringing the impact of sorcery related violence to a wider audience.

Don Wiseman spoke with the university's Verena Thomas about the work.
