Fiji resort's sunscreen ban meets with huge support

A tourism resort on a small island in Fiji says it's getting huge support for its ban on chemical sunscreens.

The Leleuvia Resort has banned its guests from using the creams after research showed the common sun blocking chemicals Oxybenzone and Octinoxate cause damage to coral reefs.

Hawaii has banned sunscreens containing the harmful chemicals that comes into effect at the start of 2021.

The resort's manager Colin Philp says they've been studying the research and he hopes other resorts in Fiji will follow suit.
