From , 5:05 am on 4 July 2018

Indonesia's Papua region has been described as one of the country's "black holes" when it comes to human rights.

A new report by the group claims that at least 95 people have been killed by Indonesian security forces in Papua and West Papua provinces since 2010.

Director of Amnesty International Indonesia, Usman Hamid, told Ben Robinson-Drawbridge that despite some progress on human rights in Indonesia in the past twent years, Papua seems to be an exception.

Since the latter part of 2017, fighters with the West Papuan Liberation Army, or TPN, have intensified hostilities with Indonesia's military and police in Tembagapura and its surrounding region in Papua's Highlands.
