The Tonga Development Bank has made giant strides to overcome the difficulties people face in sending remittances home.
Its Ave Pa' Anga Pau, or Send Money Home, voucher is cashless, secure and fast.
Its only cost is for the foreign transaction charge.
So far the TDB, which has had help from the International Finance Corporation, has made the voucher available in New Zealand and about 1000 Tongans have used it to send home nearly $US2 million dollars.
The leader of the Ave Pa Anga Pau project is Silia Tupou who told Don Wiseman how it works.
