The Pacific Environment Journalist Network says it's important for Pacific journalists to report on environmental matters in their own backyards.
The network was officially launched in Tonga recently as part of the 5th Pacific Media Summit.
Former Fiji journalist and now Tonga-based media consultant Iliesa Tora was elected its president.
He spoke to MTT about the new network.
