NZ abuse inquiry seeking Pacific community input

From , 5:03 am on 6 April 2018

The man leading a New Zealand commission of inquiry into the abuse of people while in state care wants to hear from this country's Pacific Islands and Maori communities.

Sir Anand Satyanand says the legacy of people neglected and abused while in state institutions is a stain on the country's history.

The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care is now taking submissions on its draft terms of reference.

Sir Anand spoke with Don Wiseman who began by asking about the types of abuses being investigated.
