New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern has visited cyclone damaged Tonga as part of her whirlwind trip across the Pacific.
As well promising aid to help the kingdom recover, Ms Ardern visited a cyclone damaged school and heard how the mental health of children has suffered.
The Tongan prime minister Akilisi Pohiva was conspicuous in his absence from the airport to meet his New Zealand counterpart.
RNZ National's Mei Herron was in Tonga and told Ben Robinson Drawbridge why Mr Pohiva didn't show.
