The International Finance Corporation or IFC is launching the Pacific Corporate Governance Institute this week in Suva to promote good governance in the business sector.
The IFC, which is part of the World Bank, says enhanced governance can not only boost the performance of companies, but can help them attract foreign investment, leading to sustainable growth.
The launch will include a special session on family businesses, which the IFC says often have short life spans.
Don Wiseman spoke with the IFC's country representative in Suva, Deva De Silva.
