The Commonwealth Secretary-General says new types of collaboration are required by the Pacific and other regions to respond to natural disasters.
Speaking in Washington at a Commonwealth Finance Ministers meeting, Patricia Scotland spoke of a new phenomenon where multiple regions of the world are being hit by natural disasters simultaneously.
Responding to natural disasters was also a focus at a Commonwealth Law ministers meeting earlier in the week in the Bahamas.
Ms Scotland told Johnny Blades that the world must work together like never before on adaptation to, and mitigation of, climate change.
