Guam urges calm in face of North Korea strike reports

Guam authorities say there's no change in the threat level for the US territory and they're urging residents to remain calm amid reports North Korea is examining a plan to strike.

A spokesman for the Korean People's Army said once the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had made a decision, an attack on the island, which is home to a major military base, could be, "put into practice ... at any moment".

The statement was carried by the North's state-run KCNA news agency and it came just hours after the US President Donald Trump told the North that any threat would be met with "fire and fury".
