NZ to keep its Solomons' police presence

From , 6:03 am on 20 February 2017

New Zealand is to maintain a police presence in Solomon Islands once the Regional Assistance Mission ends its 14 year stint in July.

In the past week New Zealand's Foreign Minister, Murray McCully, has committed elections officials to help with the Papua New Guinea elections and staff from the same office to help with the Bougainville Referendum on possible independence set for 2018.

Mr McCully also visited Solomon Islands, and amongst other things, offered New Zealand help once RAMSI leaves in July.

Don Wiseman asked him what was concluded.
