There are hopes a new fish identification booklet will help improve management across the Pacific coastal fishing industry.
The guide from the Pacific Community, or SPC, contains descriptions and photos of approximately 320 common and edible species of coastal fish.
It aims to help officers conducting market surveys or monitor catches.
The first run of 500 waterproof guides will be distributed to fisheries agencies and reference libraries across the Pacific region.
SPC coastal fisheries scientist and co-author of the guide Brad Moore told Eleanor Wenman what he hopes it will achieve.
