New Zealand has appointed career diplomat Jonathan Curr as the new high commissioner to Fiji.
Foreign Minister Gerry Brownlee said the Fiji - New Zealand relationship had warmed since 2014, with reciprocal prime ministerial visits last year.
He said New Zealand's bilateral engagement with Fiji continued to grow in terms of two way trade, tourism, defence and development, while New Zealand tourists traveled to Fiji in ever increasing numbers.
Mr Brownlee said next year New Zealand would provide technical assistance to the Fiji Electoral Office during Fiji's national elections.
