Authorities in the Northern Marianas have confirmed that three people died when a commuter plane crashed on Tinian Island on Sunday morning.
The Saipan Tribune reports the four survivors of the Star Marianas flight are in a critical condition in the Commonwealth Health Centre on Saipan after being airlifted by US Navy helicopter.
The flight took off from West Tinian airport just before 3 in the morning en route to Saipan, but crashed in the middle of the island.
A spokesperson for the CNMI governor's office, Angel Demapan, says the FBI and Northern Marianas authorities are investigating the crash scene.
