Fiji's National Federation Party says it would welcome Sitiveni Rabuka to its party.
The former Fiji prime minister and coup-leader says he's thinking of standing in next year's election either as an independent or for the NFP.
The party's president, Raman Singh, has told the website, Fijilive, Mr Rabuka would be welcome as a member.
The website reports Mr Singh praised his experience and said Mr Rabuka could express his interest to the party's selection board.
