The mother of a prisoner who was allegedly shown being beaten by Fiji police in a video that was leaked online in March says she will file an official complaint against the police force.
Viriseini Vakarau told Fijivillage that the family is looking into options including getting the police to investigate the team that arrested her son and finding legal avenues to have them appear before the court.
Ms Vakarau says she identified her son, Iowane Benedito, lying in the tray of a truck when she saw the arrest video.
She claims she has not seen her son since the incident as the Corrections Service is not allowing her to visit him.
