The Solomon Islands Government is expected to seek an additional 33 million US dollars in a supplementary budget when Parliament meets next week.
The Solomon Star says as part of parliamentary oversight, the Public Accounts Committee will begin scrutinising the bill later this week.
The chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Douglas Ete, says the 23 ministries will be asked to bring explanatory notes to support their requests for more funding.
He says the ministries seeking the most extra money are Tourism, Police and Health.
Mr Ete says some people think the PAC is nothing but a rubber stamp mechanism but he says the committee is there to ensure accountability.
