The leader of the attorneys association in American Samoa is calling for the revival of entrepreneurship in the territory to help with the local economy.

Sean Morrison, president of the American Samoa Bar Association says times are tough and the economy is weak with federal funding being drastically cut.

He says the territory is also still recovering from the 2009 tsunami and the closing of COS Samoa Packing cannery.

Mr Morrison says the association's Legal Reform Committee is working on reviewing the laws relating to business and commerce.
