Unpaid workers block Tahiti street

Workers in French Polynesia have blocked a key street in Papeete in protest at not being paid.

The employees of SMPP-SOGEBA were promised to be paid after a court ruled last week that the government release 2.3 million US dollars in money owed to the company.

The funds are owed for work on the new hospital.

The workers also blocked the access to the assembly building, delaying the opening of today's session.
