Sport: New Caledonia and Tahiti head medals table at Pacific Games

Host New Caledonia and Tahiti head the medal table at the Pacific Games with 13 golds each.

The host has the created the biggest haul with 34 medal collected after three full days of competition.

Tahiti's gold rush has been fuelled by 8 top podium placings in the out rigger racing, and four in bodybuilding.

Papua New Guinea is third on the medal table with five gold, three snared by veteran swimmer Ryan Pini.

Fiji has two gold ,earned in shooting while Tonga has two gold as well, produced by Monday's body building programme.
