The Taveuni Tourism Association has been told that extending the Taveuni Airport is not viable.
The Taveuni Tourism Association has requested an extension of the runway so that bigger planes can fly to the island bringing more visitors.
Fiji Broadcasting quotes the Airports Fiji Limited Chairman Rick Rickman says saying extending the runway is probably not the best option.
He says it would be better to build a new airport on another location, possibly an old airstrip.
