American Samoa's member of the US Congress, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, is urging for a resolution to outstanding issues regarding the territory's relationship with the United States.
Faleomavaega says maybe a constitutional convention would help to determine the links.
He also says he doesn't know where the recommendations by the political status commission are headed.
"The full analysis of our two treaties as well as the analysis of the Congressional Ratification Act of 1929. If we don't understand these two basic documents which is going to spin our wheels for the next hundred years."
