The Marshall Islands foreign minister has restated his country's commitment to the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, saying many Marshallese serve with the US military.
Gerald Zackios commented after a US Congressman alluded to the Marshall Islands as only giving the US
flyover authority and not participating on the frontlines in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mr Zackios says the Congressman lacks information and knowledge of the Marshalls' commitment and participation in the US war on terror.
He says today, there are hundreds of Marshallese men and women, sons and daughters, in the US Armed Services.
