The environmental organisation Greenpeace in Papua New Guinea is launching a campaign promoting small-scale bush milling.

A Greenpeace campaigner, Dorothy Tekwie, says the Greenpeace vessel Rainbow Warrior II is visiting Port Moresby as part of the event.

She says the campaign is aimed at making logging sustainable.

"We in Papua New Guinea would like to see Australian and New Zealand importers of timber - we appeal to them to seek credible, certified sources that they are importing from into New Zealand and Australia."
